Q. Where can I buy my own Vote Against t-shirt?
A. Shirts are available at our photo shoots for $20. Money raised from t-shirt sales help support the project and the overall effort to defeat the amendment.
Q. I want to volunteer, how can I help the Vote Against Team?
A. We LOVE volunteers! Please fill out our volunteer form and someone will be in touch with you.
Q. I have a perfect location for you to come set up a photo shoot, how can I get in touch with you?
A. Click on the “Contact” tab at the top of the page. Tell us about yourself, where you are, and the space you think is perfect for a large photo shoot!
Q. Can I host my own private Vote Against shoot?
A. No. All of our events are open to the public. We only have four months to travel throughout as much of North Carolina as we can, and unfortunately can’t get to everyone. But, we are working hard to make sure we cover as many areas as possible.
Q. What type of image will I receive after my photo shoot?
A. We carefully go through all of the photos we take in your session and select the best one. That single shot will be retouched and published on our website for your use.
Q. Do I get to choose the final image from the photos taken?
A. No. We cannot accommodate requests to see the additional images. If you don’t like the photo selected and would like to participate again, check our tour schedule and join us for another photo shoot!
Q. How long does it take to get access to my photo after the shoot?
A. This will depend on the number of people that show up for any given photo shoot. Our team retouches the images and then uploads them to the website for access. The turn around time is generally 2-3 weeks. If you provide your email address at the shoot, you will receive an email from us when your photo is ready. If you have problems finding your image after three weeks, please contact us. We will not respond to individual requests any earlier
Q. How do I get access to my Vote Against photo?
A. During your photo shoot, you will receive a piece of paper letting you know how to get your photo. If you provide your email address to us, you will receive an email when your photo is ready. You can click on the link in your email or search by clicking on your SHOOT LOCATION. You will also be able to scroll through the Unity Wall to find your image amongst the hundreds of other participants.
Q. Your website isn’t working very well on my computer. How do I find my photo?
A. Our website is build with the latest of web technology, sometimes computers are running on older versions of web browers. We highly recommend if you are having this issue to download Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. They are free web browers that work incredibly well with today’s newest and best websites!
Q. Do I have the right to use my photo on my Facebook, Twitter, etc.?
A. Yes! Yes! Yes! Sharing the image with your networks spreads the word on the amendment vote and raises awareness of its harmful effects. So go on, share it widely!
Q. Is there anything you’d recommend me putting as my comment below my picture on Facebook?
A. The Vote Against Project is about storytelling. As such, we strongly urge you to share the reason(s) why you will vote against the amendment in Facebook picture captions, twitter messages, blog posts, etc. Your picture will be an effective way to express your opposition by telling your story. Also, be sure link to our website so others know how to get involved.
Q. How do I get my picture removed from this page?
A. Signing the Model Release Form at the photo shoot grants the Vote Against Project the permission to use your image on our website. If there is a compelling reason yours needs to be taken off, please contact us directly and let us know.
Q. I have never voted in a primary, how does this work?
A. Whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or Unaffiliated you can vote against the amendment. On May 8th, 2012, all NC citizens who are registered will be able to vote on this amendment. Depending on your party and where you live, you may or may not have other races on your ballot, but everyone will have the amendment listed.
Q. How do I register to vote in North Carolina?
A. Go here, NOW! It takes less than two minutes: www.rockthevote.com. We especially encourage students and others who are registered to vote in other states to ensure their registration is for North Carolina.
Q. I don’t typically vote. How important is it that I vote, or get my family and friends to vote?
A. This vote in May, during a primary, is unique. Turnout is expected to be lighter than a typical Election Day in November. As such, it’s CRITICAL that every person show up to vote as the amendment could be decided by a mere hundreds of votes.
It will only take a few minutes to go to your poll station and VOTE AGAINST the amendment (or vote with an absentee ballot). You have no excuse!
Q. Where is my assigned polling station?
A. You can find it at here. Type in the address for where you are registered to vote.
Q. How can I find more information about this Amendment and get more involved in the campaign?
A. For further information and to find more ways to get involved, please visit our partners Coalition to Protect NC Families and Race to the Ballot!
Q. I’m still confused about the election and how to vote, what do I do?
A. We’re happy to help! Send us a message on the contact page, and we’ll answer your questions.
